A joint venture of Louis Berger and Hill International has secured a 265m contract from the Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) to offer project management and construction management services for the new 22bn automated metro system in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The joint venture, called Riyadh Advanced Metro Project Execution and Delivery (RAMPED), is 55% owned by Louis Berger, with the remaining 45% owned by Hill. Under the deal, the JV will manage lines 4, 5 and 6 of the six-line Riyadh metro system to be built by the FAST consortium led by Spain’s Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas (FCC) at a cost of 7.8bn. The contract, which also includes a five-year performance period and a one-year defects liability period, will see the JV work in cooperation with ADA and the design-build contractors.
