Our goal at SHIMA is to promote and advance the Health Information Management (HIM), and Health Informatics professions through advocacy, communications, education, and research. We cover a broad range of topics related to HIM and Health Informatics professions such as clinical coding, clinical documentation improvements, analytics, Electronic Health Records, and consumer informatics. Vision To become the Professional Organization that improves Healthcare Nationally and Internationally by enhancing practices and standards related to Clinical Coding and Health Information Management and to become the Authorized source for Education, Researches and Accreditation.
