Masjid Alkou ( مسجد الكوع) ( means elbow) is located within the botanical garden of Western Mountain route. Prophet Mohammed (SAW ) when he came to Taif after being harrased in Makkah stood at or near this place or leaned near it. The mosque was built later on to remember this occasion The mosque is in a dilapidated condition. Must visit while in Taif.

I went to this place as I heard that the beloved prophet visited it. I found the place to be deserted. The authorities in charge need to provide helpful information to the visitors so they are aware about the history as many people have sprad stories with different narratives about the place.
Feeling blessed to have visited the place
Although Saudi government claims that there is no historical evidence for this claim but I found a lot of people there. Surely Allah knows its significance.

Subhan Allah nice mosque .this mosque to be built on the appalroximate spot the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him stood or when he first came to taif.this mosque was built by the end of ottoman era.
