The Two Holy Mosques Architecture Exhibition is located in Um al-Joud area, near the Kiswa Factory. Since its establishment it has become one of the most popular destinations in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. It was established in February 2000 during the late King Abdul Aziz era. This little museum is brimming with relics from the two holy mosques, Al Masjidul Al Haram in Mecca and the Prophet's mosque in Medina. These include pillars, marble insignia and historical photos. Some items date as far back as the 13th-century Abbasid period. There are two standout items: the ornate teak wooden stairwell on wheels, which the Ottomans used to access the Kaaba in the 1820s, and a historic pair of the Kaaba's spectacular giant gilded metal doors. On the northwestern edge of Makkah you’ll find a museum dedicated to treasures from two of Islam’s holiest mosques. Discover how Al Masjid Al Haram (Holy Mosque) in Makkah and Al Masjid An Nabawi (Prophet’s Mosque) in Madinah have been transformed over the centuries. Behold artifacts that include a teak staircase from the Kaaba, carved in 1825, and the door of an Ottoman pulpit, a relic from the Prophet’s Mosque that dates to 1590.

One of ten things to do and visit in mecca. This museum show you history of mecca and Medina, if you come with your group tour will be fine but if you want to come by taxi recommended to take for round trip because this place is outside city and there haven't taxi service around there. When you order taxi please make sure you bargain the price correct. Not many driver understand in English and understand where you want to go.

Its a great visit. Plenty to see and learn. Was a fun visit with our family. Lots of curious things to see. Not much to say. It will be a worthwhile visit. BUT PLEASE CHECK THE TIMINGS BEFORE YOU COME. We had to return and come back later. Taxi drivers are knowledgeable about it. Ask them.
