Welcome to the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation! The ISSF is the Governing body for the Islamic Solidarity Games; a multinational & multi-sport event. The Games involve the elite athletes of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation. The Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSF) is the Organisation that is responsible for the direction and control of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The First Event was held in 2005 in Saudi Arabia and there are currently 57 members of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation. Non-Muslim citizens in the member countries are also allowed to take part in the Games. A Second Event, originally scheduled to take place in October 2009 in Iran, and later re-scheduled for April 2010, was cancelled due to some unavoidable Technical Difficulties. However, the 3rd ISSF Games are scheduled for June 2013 in RIAU, Indonesian Membership: Permanent OIC Member States: 1. AFRICA = 26 Countries 2. ASIA (CENTRAL, SOUTH & SOUTH-EAST) = 12 Countries 3. MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA = 14 Countries 4. EASTERN EUROPE & CAUCASIA = 03 Countries 5. SOUTH AMERICA = 02 TOTAL = 57 Countries
